You guys really helped me out during my apartment search so here I go again.I moved to Kingwood about two months ago for my new job as a Naval Architect for a marine salvage company.  Its a small office so there is not really anyone my age. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for a 23 year old to meet some similar age people and make some friends. I'm not really into the whole bar/nightlife scene.Thank you!!  So far I am really liking Kingwood.  4951

Take a class at Lone Star College? I cannot imagine a young single person living in Kingwood. There really is not much to do here. Downtown is where I would go. Sorry! Kingwood is more like a bedroom community. When I was single living in Massachusetts I joined the Boston Barley Hoppers that would meet at the "Cheers" Bar. We would run to another bar, have a drink and run back to "Cheers". Some people were serious and others went to be social. Maybe you can find something like that here? We even had the Boston ski club. I miss those days! Young and carefree. Maybe google single activities in Houston? 4951

Thanks. My apartment complex has a GYM so I haven't joined a different one.I have joined a church group but they don't meet that often and some of the are married with kids.Others have mentioned events downtown so I guess that's something I should look into. I am low key so do like atmosphere of Kingwood. And yes I am single. 4951

I have the same problem. There isn't a whole lot to do for younger people in Kingwood. I would suggest joining a gym or taking a class or two as a hobby. If you aren't focused on just staying in Kingwood, you might be able to find more stuff in the city. 4951

What kind of activities do you like to do? I think there are running and cycling groups. Tennis, golf? Did you go to a TX college or one from a nearby state that they would have an alumni group in Houston? Does your apartment have any social activities? I have a son about your age and he's in a new city - fortunately he has other young people at work. 4951
