Well, I saw a job opening on this site for a staff accountant requiring a finance or business degree and experience - offering $40K plus benefits. Seems way too low.
@jls2:  While it sounds low, they will probably see substantial increases their first few years. That's what happened when I first started as an Engineer.  In 1978, I started out at about $17k/year but my pay doubled within about two years. I continued to get substantial raises over the years.  In my last years, I was at top pay for my grade (senior staff) so I only got increases to match inflation.  Of course, over my career, the economy thrived and the demand for Engineers increased, so I was lucky.Now, most new Engineers in the Petro-Chem business start somewhere around $50k-60k and will top $100k within 5-10 years.
