So I have always been buy cheap, toss them, but lately that has not been paying off, Times, Casio, whatever, just break before the battery wears out, or the strap breaks, or the last one, a US Polo Assoc. the stem broke when I was adjusting it for DST.So I have picked some out I like and what does anyone know about these brands? Some have reviews, some don't. Is a $150 Tommy Bahama better than a $90 invicta? Is a $140 Citizen better than a $100 Tokyobay?WengerSwiss LegendInvictaStuhrling OriginalTommy BahamaArmaniAVI-8TokyobayCitizenFestinaLucien PiccardHamlinGino FrancoMomentum 4951

I just looked and my husband's is an Armathron (something like that) he bought on sale for $45 @ Palais Royal, he's had it for years. I know he's had Citizens before. This one is lasting, all he's done is replaced the battery. 4951

I own a large number of watches, various brands. I have found you cannot go wrong with a Citizen, especially the echo-drive or the Festina. Citizen comes in all price ranges but you can find both on-line for a lot less than in a store. SAMs also has great prices on Citizen. I bought an echo-drive a few months ago for over 50% less than retail stores. Wenger watches are pretty rugged and long lasting also. I have an Invicta but it is not one of my favorites. 4951

I gave up wrist watches when I was in college.  I wore leather bands with them and they stunk after a few months.  I spent more on bands than I had on the Timex.  So I took the watch off of the band and carried it in my pocket.   My wife bought me a pocket watch a couple years later.  From then until I got a cell phone, I only used pocket watches.  Good luck on finding a decent watch. 4951

I've had my Rolex going on 20 years, I like the watch, just got tired of the maintenance, the cost was killing me, it has sat in my drawer for years. I really like Omega (a lot better than Rolex), I've had this one for 4/5 years, hasn't missed a lick.

For Christmas, I got both my wonderful hubb, as well as my father-in-law, Citizen Echo Drive watches from Zales........They do NOT run on, or need batteries........They run off of light....  Any kind of light......And if you purchase online (at Zales) you can always find a Promo Code to help with the cost........And they're actually quite nice and reasonable priced..... 4951

I own several Fossil watches love their warranty although I have NEVER had to cash in on one.  I have about 10 of them collected over the last 15+ years or so.Now my hubbin loves his Omega and some astronaunt watch can't remember what its called.  All I know it cost about as much as a car Emoticon 4951

forget the designer watches..most electronic watches are just cheap works with a fancy case to gull you into thinking you are getting some degree of quality. and what you want to get depends on how you use them. if you're relatively easy on them then get a nice seiko automatic or something similar...no batteries to change and they are pretty durable. if you are in lots of out door stuff, you might think about a divers watch from casio, they are rugged and waterproof so they solve a couple problems even if you don't go diving. 4951

I got my seiko for about 140. Its a day/date automaric and is water tight up to 50 meters.
Black face with smoth scrolling second's hand. I'm verry happy with it. The down side is you have to adjust every other month that dont end with 31. The plus is no more batteries. 4951
