I want to change my outside gas lamp,,, which does not work, into an electric one. I would like to control it with the switch at the house, or even use a light detector.Any electricians out there, to give some advice,,, or even give me an estimate?I would also need to disconnect the gas. 4951
@Fallon, thanks for referring me to Preferred Elec. Joe & his helper are here, this very minute, repairing the electrical stuff that was on our buyer's inspection list. (It's early, I know. They arrived at 7am!) 4951
A plumber will be needed to cap off the gas line. Fixing the gas light will be way cheaper than changing to electric. And gas is cheaper than electricity. 4951
I already capped the line. That was the easy part. the last gas line, was corroded and falling apart. We just turned it off, and capped it. Last time the gas was constantly running, and my bill went up. With electric, I can regulate it with a timer, or motion detector, add a timer, it will go off after a while.to late,, its done,, that's why I need the electrician. 4951
