Has anyone used Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish (or any other language)?  My daughter has a lot of Hispanic kids in her classes and is going to use Rosetta Stone.  I took Spanish in high school and would like to refresh and improve.BTW:  Rosetta Stone is normally $499 and it's on sale now for $274 4951

Has anyone used Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish (or any other language)?

@Retired_Engineer: No...I used Maria, Rosa, Carmen,  and Consuela...Had much fun, but didn't really learn that much conversational spanish other than most of the "bad words".... 4951

Rosetta Stone is good, but DuoLingo is a free app with no ads and it's available on all mobile devices like iphones and ipads.  Why spend so much money when you can get an excellent program for free?!? 4951

@EddyFree: funny but i used the same technique to learn english from bobbysue, peggy, maryjo and patty...and i pretty much had to learn everything but the bad words on my own too...what coincidences...

I have the Rosetta Stone for Spanish. I've only done a little but into the program so far. I find it to be very fast paced. Or maybe I'm a sow learner. I'm not a huge fan of it. 4951

@jayhawk: it probably would help if you had someone to try to converse with apart from the program. maybe you and a partner to sort of internalize the language rather than that translating in your head ...it will come with time
