Is Moody Gardens mostly indoors? What is there to do? 4951

You know I dont go much but when I do I love it...yes most is indoors even the butterfly garden which is a must. They do have some sort of "seasonal" beach splash pool but thats the only outdoors I know of. Its one of those things like the museum, you walk in and pay different tickets for what you want to do. It can be pricey but you can still have fun on a smaller budget if careful. look online and see if there are any coupons. The 3D movie is usually pretty good too. Was just telling the other half of me that its time to go, its been a while! 4951

We took the kids over Labor Day - our first time there. There are three pyramids - a rainforest, an aquarium and a learning/science type center. You could buy tix to all 3, but it was around $60 ea., I think? We opted to do the rainforest, as we've done numerous aquariums before. The rainforest was fun. From there we ended up having lunch in the restaurant inside the complex, overlooking the water. It was very nice! 4951

It's very expensive. I recommend getting a family pass instead of paying for one day visits. It's pretty much the same cost. Then come back a couple times in the summer (there's a great mini water park, lazy river, white sand beach, etc) and come see the Christmas lights in the winter...it's a great deal that way. Also gives you a discounted hotel room and they have nice rooms and a very fun pool and hot tub that my kids love. 4951
