Attorney General in Oklahoma is now warning citizens of that state about making donations to many of the Animal Rescue Societies due to the fact that the money donated is NOT going to the animal shelters but is being used for buying LOBBYISTS against animal owners.  Especially troubling was the fact that NONE of the money donated during the many deadly tornadoes last year was actually sent to the shelters in those areas.  These groups have a known AGENDA against pet owners and wish to eliminate all pets. 4951

it would be helpful if you linked to actual news stories and such so people can read details of the claims being made. without some verification,  this is known as rumor and gossip 4951

Do a Yahoo search on "Oklahoma Attorney General Warns About Animal Shelter Donations" and it will pull it up. I belong to RPOA (responsible pet owners alliance) and they sent me this info yesterday. Actually it's common knowledge that when you donate to PETA or HSUS the money goes to their Lobbyists they buy to push their anti pet laws through the courts. Our Texas Attorney General will hopefully put the info out to consumers here in Texas.By the way I don't cater to rumor or gossip. 4951

@doddlebug: not trying to argue with you but if you want to convince people of something, you are the one that has to do the work by providing the background info and links to information. and the fact that you use the term 'common knowledge' doesn't make it accurate or correct. everyone seems to have an agenda. the idea that anyone is trying to outlaw pets smacks of  conspiracy theory/ tinfoil underwear and hat time

@doddlebug: Personally, PETA is an "extremist group" in my book so I don't care much for them...However, I have to agree that the original poster has the "burden of proof" and responsibility to "do the work" to back up the claims of their initial post with links to resources and information... 4951

@Wooderson: it's simple..if you want people to follow an argument, it is incumbent upon the person presenting the argument to provide the details. that is debate 101...to expect people to do a search to support  whatever position you are advocating is selfdefeating. i won't do someone else's work for them

Sometimes when people aren't articulate to indulge in a debatable intellectual way on the issue or topic at hand, they resort to insults or personal attacks.... in my case this is what I've experienced, so I don't engage them. Emoticon 4951
