Not only that- the water itself could be unhealthy. Many years ago I lived in Ohio and there was an uranium dump site just NW of where we lived called Fernald. It was discovered that barrels of uranium had leaked into the ground polluting the ground water AND part of the aquifer. There also was a water bottling plant close by- their claim to fame was Spring water- guess what- the Spring water they bottled was fed by the part of the aquifer polluted with uranium. I'll take my chances with Houston H2O and a filter and drink it from a glass or a BPA free bottle 4951

City of Houston water is too nasty to drink - I'll take bottled water any day.  Our water is pee colored about every other week. Severn has to keep coming out to flush the lines, only to return in a few weeks for the same problem. We have lived here for over 13 years, the water was OK until about 2 years ago. Now it's constantly nasty.  4951

@FoFa: Probably is, but do you think the CoH even cares?  You call 311, they write up a report, send out Severn who opens up the fire hydrant and flushes the lines, closes it up & goes about their merry way.  This started about 2 years ago.  I don't know when they switched us to surface water, I do know we were on community well water when we moved here.  They no longer issue well permits so we are forced to use this crappy water. I think I'd rather die from the BPH (?) of the plastic bottles than die from whatever is in this foul water.

I don't know, guess I've watched to many Datelines/20/20's ect, where they compare bottled water to water coming from your sinks, and the bottled water was dirtier with more junk in it than the water you get from the sink, so you won't find any bottled water at my casa.I drink way more water than average, for me, it's water or beer (no tea, coke, ect), and the water coming from my pipes to my fridge (with a filter in between, in the fridge) tastes so much better than any bottled water I've tried. Plus, here's the kicker, it's free (well, not totally free, but real cheap). 4951

@TexasOma@CBP210What part of Kingwood are you in?  I'm in Greentree Village and our house water is fine.  It's actually better than some of the other places I've lived.About the only time I drink bottled water is when we are on the road. 4951

I'm with chador - my water is great. I have to say Houston water tastes way better than the water we got N of Cincinnati, and way better than my parents " soft" water- Blech! Every once in a while I'll smell sulphur but that's not uncommon living close to the Gulf. Florida water smells yucky 4951
