I have been wanting to get back into shape for awhile now.  I am fine with my weight but wanted to tone up or at least get moving.I went for a long walk(long to me is about 1-2miles) yesterday and feel great! Maybe eventually I will try the Zumba I got for wii.  You have to start somewhere. 4951

I'm with you girl!  I really wanted to go for a bike ride yesterday on the trails, but got caught up with yard work and finally getting around to getting our camper trailer inspected so we can get a Texas license plate for it.  That in itself took 3 hours.   I asked hubby to take me out to dinner after that. Keep it up! Walking is great for you! Much easier on your body than running on hard pavement, gets you outside and into the fresh air. Studies actually show a brisk walk is every bit as beneficial as a run.

Just commit and stick to it, that's where most people fail. 4951

Combine lifting weights and walking to tone up your body - walking alone will not do it. 4951

@jls2: I know-I have the dog when I walk though.  I am doing yoga as well and am going to start pilates as well.

@TheTruthHurts: other studies show that most studies are wrong.
