Usually from the Weather Channel website.  I look at the Chronicle's weather reports, but by the time I see them, they are at least 12 hours old.  I also like to look at the Weather Channel's "weather in motion" radar to see how the rain (if any) is moving and how heavy it is. 4951

Primarily, www.srh.noaa.gov/hgx.  I read the forecast discussion to get the basis/thinking behind the forecast then review the ensemble models to see what kind of agreement there is.  I studied meteorology though, and did a couple of internships at the NWS office in Seattle, so I have a different take on things.  I have a daily routine that I go through as well, where I also look at the hemispheric long wave forecast patterns to get a feel for how that will impact the forecast in the coming days ahead, especially with regards to any major troughs or ridges that build our way.Eric Berger, blog.chron.com/weath er/ , does a pretty nice job on his blog of bringing the meat of the forecast and some of the rationale into the picture, even including some data from a private forecasting firm that he has a subscription to.  He has a FB page that he posts to regularly as well. 4951

I watched one of the local news channels tonight.  I stopped watching because all they show is doom-and-gloom bad news or sappy feel-good stories.  The weather report was actually pretty good since it showed what is happening (or they think is happening) with a front over the next few days.  I would watch their weather reports more often, but I won't watch the rest of the show just to see the weather. 4951
