Last Night, well here is the true story, I kid you not.I don't know what it is about plastic wrap, but I get so frustrated trying to use it.Not sure what it has against me, personally, but it likes my wife and both my daughter's. They can grab it, pull it out, rip it off, and wrap something in like sub 3 seconds.I feel lucky if I get it around something in sub 3 days, at least sort of.I had a large radish (sort of like a daikon, but larger around and not as long) and used part of it in a soup. So the only logical thing is to wrap the cut end in plastic wrap.sigh.I had to run alternatives through my mind, foil? Maybe, but the aluminum might react with the radish, and it will not fit tight enough to stop the cut end from drying out.Wax paper, no.plastic storage container, to big, takes up too much space, won't stop it from drying out.Plastic bag, possible.Honey, where are the larger storage bags?W - We are out, I need to put them on the list.DAMN!plastic wrap it is.sigh.Take the box out of the drawer, the lid is slightly open, catches on the cabinet lip, lid goes open, box stops, finger somehow gets on the cutter and gets scratched. Not a good start.sigh.Get box, look for end of plastic wrap, grab it, the roll falls back into the box slightly, the loose end sees me and decides to wrap itself tightly around the roll now.I can't see the end now.sigh.I should have just hauled the plastic wrap and the radish out to my wife, but it is the principle of the thing, after all, it is JUST plastic wrap.So I extract the roll from the box, get under bright lights and search for the end.W - Dear, what are you doing?Making dinner, you know that (maybe with a little attitude, she didn't deserve it, but this &*#$, *(@#&, *&#^ plastic wrap already has me **** off).W - You angry at me?NOW - Need some help?NO! (this was another mistake on my part)W - Well I hear a lot of commotion and cussing, and you are only making soup. It's this *^&%$ plastic wrap.W - Want me to come out and do it?No, I got this (another mistake on my part)I find the end, pull it out (working from end to the other) and stuff the roll back into the box, where the end promptly attaches itself to the roll once again.BREATH DEEPLY, IT's ONLY PLASTIC WRAPGo through the whole” find the end”  thing again, and pull off a good 6 inches, WRAP YOURSELF BACK NOW SUCKER!I should not have thought that (plastic wrap I am convinced can read minds.)Put it back into the box and the longer end crinkles up and is now only 1/2 inch long.Grab the crinkled end, *&^# *&! and pull out 2 feet for my 4 inch diameter radish. That should be enough even if it crinkles up!Grab the end and rip it off.You know the motion, make it start at one end and pull down across the serrated cutter thingy that loves to tear up your fingers if you get to close.Except I was not holding the lid tight enough, and the plastic wrap detected this weakness in my technique. It showed me this my the lid promptly popping open, causing me to fumble with the box, and the roll escaping the box and rolling across the floor. This of course caused the loose end to be plastered against the roll, crinkles and all.I must mention at this point, my my wife  knows about my weakness with plastic wrap, she has had many victories in the war with plastic wrap over the years, and she knew I was "using plastic wrap", so when I let out a few (hundred) choice words, hearing a loudish snicker from the family room, should not have surprised me.I locate the end once again, one would think this would be easy since it is crinkled, but I now have about 2 1/2 feet crinkled and it crinkled part is wrapped around the roll about twice. If we would have had a spare roll, this one would have been in the trash, but I digress. So I figure I should rip off the crinkled mess, and go for new fresh plastic at this time. So I pull it off until the crinkles are gone, and making sure the box is closed and I have a firm grip, rip the bad off, except it rip about half way, then pulls more out of the box and crinkles it.REALLY!I MEAN REALLY!About this time, the dogs who doing their, "maybe he will drop something, we should wait here just in case" thing, left the kitchen. So I RIP it again, and it doesn't rip so much as stretch until breaks, causing the part still attached to the roll, to be crumpled up into a 2 inch strip instead of the 12 inch width it normally is.So pull the plastic wrap out until it normal again (if plastic wrap can be normal in my book) rip it off once more, well something that passes for ripped off.Toss the bad part in the trash (don't get me started on it sticking to my hand, won't fall off, etc.)Grab the end again, pull out a couple feet (for my 4 inch radish) and rip it, successfully.YEA, and to rejoice in my success, the plastic wrap decides to find it's other half and create one big crumpled mess.Yea me!I can undo this, so I start pulling it apart, but as I pull one side, the other joins the part not being pulled. In the end, I am no further along.Wad it up (it doesn't stick to your fingers that way, and for some really odd reason, it doesn't really stick to itself that way, it unwads sort of, maybe I should investigate that later). So I grab the end once again, say a small prayer, pull out another couple feet, and rip it off once again.Clean rip!The plastic wrap magnetic affect takes over, and once again I have half crumpled, attracted to itself section of plastic wrap.sigh.grab it and try to undo the mess, and get a slightly crumpled about 8 by 8 piece of plastic! That's workable.Place the plastic wrap over my cut end of radish, and triumphantly wrap it down the sides, sticking itself to itself to form an air tight, wait one minute. It isn't sticking to itself. Is there some time limit from separation from the mother roll that it will stick, then nothing?Fold and crease to get it to stick to itself, no luck.More choice words, and a muffled snicker from the family room.*%&$ THIS!Grab a rubber band from the drawer, and place it on the Radish to hold down the plastic wrap.SUCCESS!VICTORY!Put the wrapped radish in the fridge.place box of plastic wrap in drawer.Close drawer, lid on plastic wrap pops up just enough to catch the top edge, and cause the box to spring all the way to the front of the drawer, dislodging other "stuff" in the drawer and causing it to fly out on the floor. You have to admit, it is fighting all the way to the end.  4951

@FoFa:   Plastic wrap must have been invented by a woman FOR women.  I have NEVER been able to tear off a section without it folding up and sticking to itself!  I can eventually get it to work, but I throw away 4-5 crumpled balls for every successful use. 4951
