There is one on 59 & Aldine Mail. Opens at 9am. I got there at 8am and when they opened I was done in 9 minutes. The key is to go early. I went just this morning. 4951

@Guzla:  It's been a few years since I had to go, but that's the one I went to.  There were people lined up outside before the office opened.  It moved pretty good, but be prepared for a wait.

@Heathur:  7 gray hairs?!?  I have plenty of gray hair on my head.  For a change, I let my beard grow out for two weeks.  It was ALL gray except for a few stray dark hairs.  Emoticon

@Irispixies: My 2 year anniversary is in a couple weeks and i haven't done mine either! I did change it legally, just haven't had my drivers license or anything else done. Getting pregnant so fast after getting married, i didn't want to deal with a name change with my insurance during all that. Then i decided to wait until my id expires so i can go get a new picture, change my name, and change the address! I'll get it done in April. My poor husband!

How do you change your name? I thought getting an ID with the new last name was how you changed it? lol

@Heathur: You have to take your marriage cert. and your current id to the ss office. They issue you a new ss card. When you get that, you go to the dmv with your new ss card, and whatever else you have to have (look on their site to make sure), and get a new liscense with your new name. Then you can go to the bank with your new id and get a new card. THEN...you change your name with all the companies that you pay using your card, such as bills and what-not.
Basically...they make it as complicated as possible. And it's a huge pain in the ***.In 2 years I've made it past step 1. LOL! 4951
