I have been on hold now for 31 minutes trying to renew electricity contract. I been happy with my bills but have never had to call customer service...may rethink this. I am staying on now just for the principle of it and see just how long it takes. 4951

Why do you have to renew? Wouldn't you be month to month with same rates? I don't understand the way some things are done in tx

Month to month is usually higher. I want to lock in lower rates before summer comes up and prices jump.

@Cgm10ne1 you should check on yours..with a pool, rates can mean either a difference in a $200 light bill or $400. I think month to month is indexed? 4951

I use spark energy and got a great rate. Never on hold more than a few minutes. 4951

After 1 hour and 9 minutes I finally got "tom" on the phone...he has put me back on hold for anther 3 to 5 minutes. 4951

It varies. I try to have mine need to be renewed during winter when rates are lower and get a plan that will last at least though october.

Okay....my gexa 206.00 center point 116.00 does this seem right? My water bill is high as well. Things are bigger in Texas....especially the cost of living compared to where we moved from. Worth every penny though! 4951

Go to powertochoose.org or gov. I forget and compare the rate and fees that you are paying to gexa with what is availabe. Dont switch till you find out if your contract is up yet or not though. Some have a cancellation fee. My light bill for 2800sq ft was 103 but no pool. Gas seems about right. 4951
