I know things can get very naughty and irreverent here, but I have a legitimate question for the more seasoned ladies here,, or men married to a seasoned lady, and I'm looking for real info. I don't want to be crude so I will talk around it.

I know the saying "women peak at 40 and men at 19" but did you ever reach a point where you suddenly had a huge, out of the ordinary boost in your "interest" to the point where you think you might have morphed into a teenage boy?

I'm not complaining and DH certainly isn't, but the suddenness of it is what I am asking about, sort of like someone switched on a light switch from relatively normal to an extreme, Johnny Hormone level. If this isn't normal, I'm considering a call to my doc, just to make sure my natural chemistry hasn't short-circuited in a bad way.

If you prefer to PM instead of post, that will be fine and much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

@donnatella: it is seriously a decrease in the female hormones and increase in male..peri menopauseEmoticon I was just telling @mpjp0907 this last night in the horrible thread. Mine came back after my hysterectomy. Without the ovaries functioning correctly and making you all emotional it gives the testerone room to breath.

well ladies, I qualify as 'seasoned', I presume, and I can tell you it's normal. A lot has to do with what else is going on in your life (kids, work, etc.) but later in life sex is worth waiting for! Providing you have a willing, appreciative partner it's great! 4951

That makes sense. I was diagnosed as being officially in "peri" and told that it could be another 10 years or so until the change is complete.

I sure hope this current situation lasts. Gotta say I am enjoying it immensely. Emoticon 4951

My wife never had the classic symptoms of menopause.  Over the past 5+ years, her drive and readiness have SIGNIFICANTLY increased.   Now, I have to sometimes plead "headache".  Emoticon 4951

It's what I tell people.  There are ups and downs in all aspects of marriage.  People divorce, because they expect it to always be the way it was, when they were first married.  4951

@donnatella:
I have the same diagnosis. I get occasional hot flashes, irritability, night sweats and increase in libido. It's not consistent though. It's like my hormones are trying to decide what to do lol!
