I rode up that way a week ago. They have a lot of 1+ acre lots in rio vista for 29k up. We found what looked to have been the start of a new subdivision in roman forest over grown and paved streets..very secluded but off the beaten path with some trashy areas in between. I could live on three wood acres! 4951

I lived in Roman forest many years and a very qualified person on the going ons of that area,,,,overtaxed, cops are all volunteer except the police chief and they are very ticket happy,,,very corrupt as well. And with the new dinosaur park going in across the freeway it will make it that much more tax burden,,,highly would deter away from that area 4951

@aubgra23: Do you have anything positive to say about any of the areas that you live in or around?  Have you considered moving?

@okiedokie
I found the post helpful being that it don't know much about that area....good point about that park going in. Definitely don't want to be jammed up in that. I like the idea of acreage. We have buyers remorse. Love kingwood, hate the postage stamp lots. 2 years and we are on the market...or sooner! 4951

Well after being on the city council there one time NO I have nothing to say positive about that area,,,you have no clue what went on or all the illegal activity that went on, just recently Patton Village got caught and made national news, you must be new here and are uneducated of this area,  but will way there are many places around here that are very good areas to move in, some villages in kingwood suck, some are really great, I can remember when there was NO kingwood, we had a dragstrip here and this area was nothing but woods, can you say the same ??? 4951

@cgm10sne1: read the other posts by this person and there is nothing positive-just complaint after complaint.  I didn't like Kingwood for my family-it just wasn't a good fit-so I moved.  I didn't stay there and complain about everything.  I also do not complain it even after living there.  Maybe I am just more of a glass half full girl.

Oh and it is a speed trap-Kingwood and many other neighborhoods probably need them....maybe then there would be less people going 45 or more in your neighborhoods and school zones. 4951

If you buy property there now, just imagine how much the value is going to go up once the park opens???  @Okiedokie I guess I am a glass half full type of person as well.@aubgra23:  No worries for speed traps if you follow the speed limit.  It isn't too bad there if you follow the rules.  Emoticon  AND, I don't get your last comment:  "Okiedokie are nothing but words with no facts,,,a newbe for sure."  What do you mean by that???The Grand Parkway is also getting completed one of these days in that section/area, so hopefully that will help with some traffic concerns about when the park goes in. 4951

Property values will go up like they did around astroworld is what you are saying,,,hhmmmm, I remember 610 was so crowded that you could hardly get around,,all those folks in Northcrest ridge subdivision have had their taxes soar,,,I know  I had 3 acres that I sold due to the taxes going up so much,,,as you know,,,as the property values go up,,so do the taxes oh and the traffic, so all those folks that bought in the country to get away from all the hustle now have it slammed in their faces,,,and as a newby as i mentioned,,,,I have lived in this area for over 40 years and seen it all happen,,,did you know about all the illegal cutting of the pine trees in Roman Forest,,,the city hall there being burned down to destroy the records, how the former city official stealing gas and not to mention the crime,,,,,I have the facts, and lived thru them, you didn't obviously,,,I am not negative, just feel bad for you that want to say something and know nothing about what has happened in this area,,,get educated and then tell me I am wrong  4951

Hmmmm. My brother just sold a house in Roman Forest and its value had increased every year for about the last 4-6 years.

Perhaps he was lying to me. I'm calling him.
