Kingwood Branch Library Events:Kingwood Branch Library is hosting the following programs in honor of Black History Month:
Tuesday, February 4, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: Craftastic: Adinkra Fabric. In Teen Room.
Make a piece of Adinkra fabric about you! Adinkra fabric is
hand-printed fabric created by the Ashanti people of Ghana. Program is
for teens and tweens ages 12-18. All supplies generously provided by
FOLK and available on a first come, first serve basis.
Monday, February 10, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Express Children's Theatre presents African American Folktales. In Children's Activity Room.
Enjoy this special performance of African American folktales presented
by a library favorites, Express Children's Theatre. Program is geared
for children and open to all ages. No registration is required.
Saturday, February 15, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Genealogy Workshop: Researching African-American Ancestry. In Computer Lab. Registration required.
Join Gloria Miller to learn and understand the opportunities and
obstacles when it comes to researching African American ancestry.
