My favorite over the holidays... I went to mail a package to South Carolina on Sunday, Dec. 15 - and they were charging $17 to get there by Tuesday the 24th and $22 to get there by the end of that week. I opted for the cheaper postage and it got there that Thursday. *shock!*

I have to buy international stamps - they were $1.10 for an envelope. They are now $1.15. When I started buying them (12 yrs ago), they were .80c.

I get that fuel prices have increased, etc., but the retirement plans are KILLING them.

So, has anyone thought about all of the stamp collectors out there who have BOUGHT special stamps and never put them back into circulation? Can you imagine what would happen if they did?! 4951

The post office is stuck with delivering letter mail(including junk mail) to everyone's house 6 days a week. I doubt even UPS or Fedex could make a profit if they had to do the same thing. Change deliver to 5 days a week and lower retirement benefits already! 4951

So, the USPS continues its death spiral.I would be happy with one mail delivery per week. 4951

The USPS is SUPPOSED to be completely self-funded.  However, every time they run in the red, Congress bails them out with taxpayer money.  4951
