No way of knowing for sure unless you get a nose swab..the faster the better because tamaflu is an excellent working anti viral drug(very expensive though) when used properly but you only have around 24 hours to get in and get it to have it work.I thought we all had the flu too as our signs matched it perfectly but our test came back negative. They thought strep even though the quick test came back negative and treated us all for strep..2 days and hubby and my kid were 100% better.Meds didnt work on me, given my past history of meningitis my body doesn't respond well to normal doses of antibiotics. Mine turned into severe bronchitis and was about 2 days from pneumonia when I went back in.Got two huge very painful shots and am on a z pack, steroids and breathing treatments(I own a nebulizer) and do seem to feel better but Im in a lot of pain from all the coughing. With all the nasty crap out there I would not wait to get checked out..go in have the test ran and get treated...these bugs are nasty this year!
@Burnsway: Och, Och, Och! Those antibiotic shots really hurt!! So sorry you had to get them, but it does give you a really good loading dose quicker then the pills. Hope you feel better soon.
