I work from home and have suddenlink, which is out a couple workdays a month atleast for no reason. Cant get centurylink here in Kings Manor. Does anyone use wireless? Im really at my wits end 4951
I thought DSL was available everywhere in Kingwood. I did find it to be more trouble than the SL service. What have you done with them to get it fixed? 4951
I've done quite a bit of troubleshooting with them, exchanged modems, and theyve been out to the house a couple times and said nothing is wrong. I just bought and setup a modem, rather than using the one I was renting from them.  Its definitely a better model. I couldnt even get online with their modem this morning but the Ive been online with the new one for a few hours. Not sure why it would make a big difference, but if it works I'll take it. 4951
Are you connecting to the modem through wireless? Sometimes that can cause trouble because of interference from other signals. But to answer you're question, yes you would have to move for better internet. Cable providers normally cover certain areas and won't let in competitors. 4951
Your modem may be going bad. I had a modem, and it worked great,, then one day it just didn't have a signal. So I replaced it with a better one, and then got a better wifiyou may need a wifi booster.. we have one for upstairs, and the kitchen. It takes the wifi and boosts it so you can be on the other side of the house. 4951
Instead of moving or worrying about DSL why not just get a mobile hotspot on your cell phone plan. I know where I work, Verizon, if you have the share everything plan they are only $20/month to add and they share the data for your cell phones. Then just change your plan accordingly. What I personally recommend my customers is a tablet and just connect to the mobile hotspot built in. Works anywhere in the US with or without power, as long as its charged. 4951
do you have a wireless phone (landline?) The MTz frequency can interfere with your signal of your wireless internet router. Â Or if your neighbors have an old wireless phone they still use. Â I think we ended up having to get a signal booster that has signal block or something, can't remember. But I do know wireless landlines effect your signal. 4951
