Opinions: Is 4:30pm an appropriate time to have a wedding at? I'm hesitant about the :30 part, but I'm thinking have the ceremony on the water from 4:30pm- 5pm, then go outside & have the reception from 5pm-9pm. We are serving dinner, drinks, & cake of course. 4951

And the groom's parents are supposed to pay for the rehearsal dinner, correct? I know my brother in law's parents paid for my sisters rehearsal dinner. That's how it's supposed to be, correct? Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I have DH ask them. 4951

@FoFa: Very helpful! Thank you!! The only things DH & I are paying for are our rings, license, & cakes. My parents are getting everything but the rehearsal dinner. Considering all that mine are paying for, I don't think it's asking too much for his parents to get the rehearsal dinner, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks!

@BowtieGuy: Ugh, I think you may be right. My gut has been telling me to move it to 4pm. Is 4:30pm or 5pm too early for dinner though?

What's the date? Look up sunset for that date. If it in the summer, later is better. It's too frickin hot outside. Oh and get some of those palm fans for the chairs if it is outdoors. People loved those at my wedding. 4951

@aggiebutterfly: June 22 is the date. We've already decided on ordering fans. It's on the water so there is a breeze, so that's a plus. We booked the venue late June of last year- the weekend right after we got engaged, lol. The venue is on Lake Conroe so the breeze from the water helps the heat. The fans are an absolute must though.

My friend also had a really cute idea for the guest book. She asked everyone to bring a picture of the bride and/or groom. She had a blank book and glue sticks. Instructions were to glue the pic and write a caption underneath (storyline of the pic).

If someone didn't have a pic with either the bride or groom in it, she asked people to bring any clipping that reminded the person of their favorite memory with the bride or groom. They glued that in with a caption.

Totally cute and personal! 4951

Ours was at 6:30. I honestly didn't think anything of it and it wasn't a problem for anyone. What i did learn is that on the invites, if it's a formal wedding, it should read "at half past six in the evening". 4951
