Do you take a gift?? Obviously, I don't know the sex of the baby yet, so would I take a gender neutral color (mint green, yellow)? Or do you wait until the shower? I am going to my first one Wednesday. Thanks! Emoticon 4951

@mrsames77:

I don't think you're supposed to take anything for the reveal. If you want, you can take something for mom-to-be. Maybe a nice pair of slippers, or if you really like the girl...a maternity pillow. If she isn't using one yet, she'll LOVE you for it! 4951

I think these gender reveal parties are ridiculous! I feel that the young people today are such attention getters!
I hate it when they have someone paint their pregnant tummies! It is all over the top! 4951

@calliecat:
I miss the days when pregnancy was a "sickness" and the woman got to hide for 9 months.
Now everyone watches and points out how hard that baby weight is to lose...*****. 4951

@calliecat: I get that it's not really your thing, but what's wrong with gathering friends and family who are excited for the parents, and want to celebrate?

I just think it should be with the hubby or maybe their parents. Friends should be out of the picture! Still think it is over the top! Also, consider who you invite. You may not know if the friend you invite could be going through infertility issues. 4951

For showers I like to give gifts for the mom that can be for her AFTER the birth. A 5th of her favorite is always appreciated and condoms. I have had several new moms tell me that was the most appreciated gift because they werent on anything while nursing and the dad was use to not having to be prepared. 4951

My stupid sister in law had a diaper and beer party for the guys. I really think that is kind of idiotic. 4951

Isn't she the one that you got the baby the Ugg slippers and the t-shirt that said "Best Aunt"? Now I can see why you do not like her!  She sounds like she has no class! What weird ideas she has! 4951
