I forgot to wrap the one in the back, the one in the front I took care of some years ago and it's still in tact. I forgot to cover my plants but did them this morning before leaving for work this morning. 4951

Mine are covered usually all the time with the foam and duct tape. But i did take some extra plastic sheeting and force it around just for that little added measure.Took like 5 minutes for front and back. 4951

Nope - we're just renting and frankly, I have enough on my plate to think about and keep track of. If my husband wasn't concerned, than I'm not! 4951

@ctl74: Until you have no water because you had to turn the main off and you can't get a plumber out because of all the others that need them Emoticon

We did.  I never have in the past and never had a problem, but when I saw that most of you on KDC were going to do it, I followed suit.  PEER PRESSURE!!  4951

DH covered the outside pipes last night with some black foam pipe cover from Lowe's. I threw sheets on a couple of plants & opened the cabinets under all the sinks & turned a drip on. Better safe than sorry. 4951

@FoFa: Very true. But, honestly, I handle everything in this household right now (including my car issues) and I work full-time with 3 little kids. I'm about to go bat$$$t crazy as it is on everyone - including my work team, and unfortunately, we need my salary. Emoticon My husband is in transition with his job and trying to decide what kind of work he wants to do since he was injured in November. So, he's taking a night position (on a trial basis) with the same company. I don't know what to expect and I hate change - especially since we moved here for him to work and I still have yet to feel settled (renting, constantly changing work schedule and responsibilities for him, etc. etc.). I seriously need to find someone to talk to, but I don't have the time!! 4951

@Burnsway: This is one of the reasons I have a fear of renting, most tenants don't care. 4951

Actually most tenants do care...its really a 50/50 thing ...like landscape, you cant expect a renter to shell out hundreds on maintenance when its not their investment, but renters can have the same respect and something as simple as wrapping pipes or boarding windows during a hurricane....that stuff is free and not even very time consuming.I hear more horror stories on what the Landlord does wrong than tenants but their are @ss's on both ends....LOLUsually this is where the problem lands...landlords are for sure they are gonna get screwed so assume the worst and tenants are for sure they will get screwed so dont do a thing on their part. 4951
